About Me

Hi, let me introduce myself.

I am Sarah Dergel, a fiber artist here in Israel. I made aliyah back in 2015 and haven't looked back since. Which might be surprising considering the state of things over the last few years.

My art is inspired by my experiences, my emotions, and my love for the complicated yet simple emotions we all feel day to day. My art is primarily created through crochet, which has a deep history within my family, along with many other Jewish homes, as a practice to make Kippot, Mitpachot, Challah covers, and more. Being one of the few art forms yet to be able to truly be replicated by machines in this day and age, this art is a rebellion against those who see art as something to be mass-produced and recreated through AI generation.

None of my work has been created with AI, nor do I allow it to be used to train or distributed via AI. All designs are handmade by me through apps like Procreate to create the grid of my tapestry designs, or simply from my own mind. More patterns are coming soon!

If you'd like to support a miluim wife who creates meaningful work by hand, I'm here to bring your vision to life through a custom piece made just for you.
